For two late-November weekends, the wartime tunnels beneath Kranj’s old town become an underground wine route more than a kilometer long. Winemakers from across Slovenia’s wine-growing regions pour hundreds of wines alongside cheeses, breads, cured meats, olive oil and other regional foods. The setting gives the event its particular character: rather than a conventional tasting hall, visitors move through the cool tunnels beneath the historic center, following a timed route through what the organizers describe as Slovenia’s longest natural wine cellar.
