Brda Contemporary Music Festival
The Brda Contemporary Music Festival brings creative music and improvisation into the wine villages of Goriška Brda. Its 16th edition again centers on Medana, with performances in intimate village venues. The festival deliberately creates a meeting point among Slovenian, Italian and international musicians, while also bringing contemporary music into conversation with visual art and poetry. The borderland setting is integral rather than incidental to the program.
Flores Musicae
Flores Musicae brings medieval and Renaissance repertoire to Vila Vipolže in Brda, part of a festival devoted to early music in western Slovenia. The 2026 Brda concert takes a particularly contemporary route, interpreting music of the 14th and 15th centuries through a project that brings early repertoire into conversation with jazz and improvisation. The Renaissance villa makes an unusually fitting setting for the encounter.
